So a breif history the Digimon card game first started in 1999 by Bandai But did poorly in the states and then was shutdown until 2020 apiril 24th where the card game was relaunched
with new mechanics, rules, cards, and designs in japan.
Because of the positive reception from japan the card game then got an english translation and released the first structure decks in the states at the start of january 29th, 2021.
Then later releasing packs and more sets with new special mechanics. Until now (2022) the digimon card games has released 9 sets in america and 10 starter decks .
As well there are 11 sets released in japan and 13 starter decks. (for now)

Rules

how you win the game is by gettng rid of your opponets 5 secerity stacks and by attacking them with your digimon. then attack them again when they have no cards in the security stack.

Decks

before playing the player has to make a deck. Every digimon deck has 50 cards and there can only be 4 copies of a certain card.
They also need to have a digi egg deck with 5 digitamas. level 2 digimon. As well a memeory gauge card to keep track how much memory they use to play their cards and digivole cards. (this is very important later)

setting the field

both players will place their memory gauge cards at the center of the field with something that keeps track on the ammount of memory thats used on the center 0.
Then each player will shuffle their decks and place the top 5 cards of their deck on the left side of the field where there security stack will be.
Then place your digitama deck below the scerity stack, that will be the nursury area.
After that place your deck on the top right side of the field and draw 5 cards. below the deck is where deleted digimon / deafeated digimon are which is called the trash.
How you determine you go first is by winning a die roll, you and your opponent can decide if you want the number to be high or low.

Memory

Memory is the cost used to play your cards and digimon. How it works is that if you have 0 memory and play a card with a cost of 2 then your opponent has 2 memory.
When you use memory that is over the ammount of memory you have then it will be your opponents turn and they will use the memory that you gave them.

Attacking

to attack 1st your digimon has to be on the playing field by either playing the digimon from the hand and attacking next turn or by moving your digimon from the raising area to the field.
then you simply move your digimon in a sideway position which is called the suspend state and declare that your attacking your opponents security stack or if your attacking your opponents digimon.
then your opponent flips their security stack and if the dp value is bigger then your digimon is deleted.
if its below then your digimon is safe and will be in the suspend position until your next turn.
you can digivolve a digimon that has attacked so it may have a higher dp vaalue and not be dleted by your opponents digimon or you know just cause.
If a option card is revealed from the security stack then it activates their security skill.
If a tamer is revealed then you can play them on your side of the field.
lastly if a memory boost card is revealed then you can place it on your side of the field to be used when its your turn. their are also digimon cards with security skills that allow them to be played after the battle.
